Editorial Policy

Lake & Lines is independently operated. No individual, brand or retailer pays to appear on the site, to receive a favourable review or to influence how a product is assessed. Affiliate relationships exist, and we disclose them clearly, but they play no part in what gets covered or what we conclude.

We publish guides, reviews, comparisons and technique articles, all aimed at helping readers make sensible decisions about their fishing. Topics are chosen because they're genuinely useful to the people who come here, not because a brand has asked us to cover something or because a particular product carries a higher commission.

Every piece of content goes through research, writing, and editorial review before publication. For product content, we're clear about the basis of our assessment: whether something has been used in the field or evaluated through documented research. We don't overstate what we know.

We do not publish sponsored posts or branded content. If that changes at any point, any paid-for content will be clearly labelled in line with the ASA/CAP Code before it's published.

Errors happen and we correct them promptly. If a correction changes something material, we note what was changed and when. Product specifications, prices and availability are reviewed on a rolling basis, and articles carry a last-updated date so you can see how recently they were checked.
